Our Values:
Orchard Hill values

1. INVITING (EVANGELISM):
Inviting others into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

The Christian life begins by entering into a personal relationship with Jesus
Christ in which we abandon our own efforts at salvation and trust in God's
grace alone, as expressed in the life and death of Jesus Christ.

For it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith and this not from
yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works so that no one can boast.
    Ephesians 2:8-9

Primarily expressed by regular attendance at our weekend services which
present the basic essentials of the Christian faith, and by regularly inviting
non-churched friends and family members to these services.

2. GROWING (DISCIPLESHIP):
Pursuing spiritual and emotional growth in every area of our lives.

Once a believer has begun a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, they
realize this is only the beginning of their Christian faith. They gratefully
respond to God's grace by actively pursuing a lifelong relationship of spiritual
growth through prayer, worship, Bible study and Christ-like behavior.

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
     II Peter 3:18.

Primarily expressed by regular attendance at NextStep Worship services,
special conferences and a daily devotional time.

3. CONNECTING (SMALL GROUPS):
Investigating and growing in our relationships with God and each
     other.

Followers of Christ realize their need to be linked with other believers in small
groups for the purpose of growth, support, accountability and care.

Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke
bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising
God and enjoying the favor of all people.
     Acts 2:46

Primarily expressed: by church membership and participation in a NextStep
     small group.

4. CARING (SERVING):
Recognizing that the greatest joy in life comes from serving God
     and others.

Followers of Christ realize the church is composed of interdependent
members who are each uniquely gifted by the Holy Spirit for the purpose
of building up the Body of Christ and advancing the Kingdom of God.

We have different gifts according to the grace given to us.
     Romans 12:6

Primarily expressed by serving in a clearly defined ministry within the
     church.

5. GIVING (STEWARDSHIP):
Giving generously of our resources to the work of the ministries
     of the local church.

Followers of Christ realize they are to be responsible stewards of the
resources God has given to them. They recognize that regular financial
giving and a willingness to share in ministry with those outside the walls
of the local church are the responsibility of every believer.

On the first day of the week, each one of you should set aside a sum of
money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no
collection will have to be made.
     I Corinthians 16:2

Primarily expressed in financial giving and involvement in an extension
ministry outside the walls of the church, in which Orchard Hill has entered
     into a formal partnership.
